Shoreditch Area Guide
Located just to the north-east of The City, Shoreditch offers the best of inner city living with an eclectic backdrop. The area has become synonymous with the creative and tech industries since the dot-com boom and remains the creative heart of London. Warehouses have been converted into offices and apartments offering some incredible space with original, industrial features. Amazing street art and murals are around every corner giving, the area a distinctive feel loved by its residents. Shoreditch and its neighbour Hoxton are also known for their incredible and varied nightlife from the bars of Curtain Road and Hoxton Square to some of London’s best clubs. Residents also have an incredible choice of independent restaurants, coffee houses and a growing street food scene. Brick Lane has become a destination for vintage clothes and furniture as well as live music, not forgetting its roots as the home of London’s best curry houses. The area offers wide variety of accommodation from classic warehouse conversions to Georgian terraces and in recent years luxury developments with facilities such as residents’ gyms and roof terraces. Shoreditch offers an incredible lifestyle within walking distance of the City and it is easy to see why so many are drawn to the area.
Shoreditch is located just a short walk from The City of London and so many residents walk to work in The City itself or in nearby Old Street. There are a number of accessible stations meaning the area is well connected for travel in all directions. Shoreditch High Street Station is on the Overground network giving access north to Hoxton or Islington within minutes, or south to Canada Water, perfect for access to Canary Wharf. Take the Northern Line from Old Street Station for direct trains north to Angel or Kings Cross St Pancras (for Eurostar), or south to Bank or London Bridge. Liverpool Street Station is on the Central Line putting the West End within easy reach.
